World Grand Prix title sponsor Ladbrokes will make a tremendous donation of £2,600 to Jessie May Children’s Hospice At Home thanks to the century breaks made during last week’s tournament.
Ladbrokes pledged to donate £100 for every ton made during the seven days at the Guild Hall in Preston, and there were 26 made, just beating last year’s total of 25.
Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan made ten of those 26 tons, though the highest break prize went to Mark Joyce for his run of 140.
Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home, based in Bristol, is World Snooker’s official charity partner. Jessie May provides a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in the Bristol area.
Adrian Osman, Head Of Sponsorship and Events for the Ladbrokes Coral Group, said: “What a fantastic tournament and particularly the performance from Ronnie to knock in 10 centuries. We are delighted that the number of centuries in the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix 2018 have surpassed last year’s total and the great charity that is Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home will benefit to the tune of £2,600.”
Lindsey Horton, Corporate Partnerships Officer for Jessie May, said: “How generous of Ladbrokes to once again support Jessie May with donations for century breaks in Preston. An amazing £2,600 was raised giving 10 of our families a much needed break from providing care for their poorly child. A huge thank you from them for giving them the gift of precious time.”
